A press briefing held at the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19- Outbreak (Ministry of defence)
The Director-General of Health Services of Sri Lanka, Dr. Anil Jasinghe appealed to the general public to continue to adhere to the guidelines provided by the Health Ministry to maintain social distancing and hand hygiene at all times.

However, Dr. Jasinghe warned the public about a possible rising of Dengue fever as a result of the upcoming rainy season. “COVID 19 can spread because we have to maintain personal hygiene and practice social distancing but dengue spreads because of communal neglect and bad practice,” he said.

The government is currently easing down lock-down measurements in the country as a result of this positive ongoing situation with Coronavirus handling.

Sri Lanka is currently holding 1,068 confirmed Coronavirus cases with 620 recovered cases and only 9 deaths.
