If you don't like politics, you are doing it wrong - "Political Slavery"

This is the second part of our opinion article series; "If you don't like politics, you are doing it wrong" in which we are trying to make people aware of our own responsibilities and the true power we have in the political world. We suggest you to go through the first part before reading this article.

A few days ago, I met an old friend through Facebook. We had a little conversation about good old days and soon we came to the common topic these days, "The current situation of the country".

"Are you satisfied with the way the government handling this pandemic situation?" I asked.

"Very unsatisfied... This government is a total failure," he replied.

I wasn't surprised by his answer. Not because what he said was true or not, because I knew that my friend doesn't like the current government of our country. He hates the controlling party and even the president because the candidate he supported lost the presidential election last November.

Actually, Our government did handle the situation quite well with the minimum resources and the economy we have. But, Neither It's an outstanding job nor a total failure as my friend sees it.

After this conversation, my concern wasn't about the pandemic handling of the government. "Why do these people are so obsessed with a political party or a politician?"

After reading our previous article of this series, my mathematics teacher said "I always condemn if two students argue over a political matter because most of the time, those two were being nurtured by a parental background which had a political colour. So they never improve their argument. They are just bothered to safeguard their sides."

His idea made me think from a different angle. Most of the young people in third world countries don't get to choose a political party which matches their own ideology. They were forced to choose one because of their family background.

In countries like ours, politics is bribery. Politicians bribe common people by providing something to satisfy the people for a small time period when the elections are announced. So people are indirectly being forced to choose a person or a group to control them without considering their plans or ideas.

I mentioned about an illusion made by traditional political parties in our previous article. This bribery is a method of making that illusion. This illusion can be called as "The Control Illusion" since this is the way political parties in third world countries control the mindset of the common people to stay in power as long as they want. Most people are permanently trapped in it.

People who are trapped in this Control Illusion become the slaves of a political party. They don't have their own political ideology. Instead, they only represent the ideas of his political party. I call this "Political Slavery".

As a result of this political slavery, political awareness among society rapidly decreases supporting the control illusion to spread widely. This works in a positive feedback loop as both political slavery and the control illusion is depending on each-other.

We can change this. We have a weapon which can break control illusion into pieces. In the next article, we will explain more about independent thinking, the weapon that withstands the control illusion.

We originally planned to do this as a weekly series. But as for your unexpected positive feedback, we've decided to publish our opinion articles as soon as they are ready. You can send us your ideas through our social media platforms which we can discuss in upcoming articles. We will answer your matters and resolve your concerns.
