Trump accuses China again and this time, it's personal
US President Donald J. Trump accused China of trying to make him lose the upcoming presidential election. He said that Beijing "Will do anything they can" to make him lose his re-election bid and China's handling of the Coronavirus situation proves it.
Two weeks ago, Donald Trump sparked a war of words between China and USA, publicly threatening the Chinese government by stating that China should face consequences if they were “knowingly responsible” for the COVID-19 outbreak.
Today Pres. Trump took the war of words to the next level. “China will do anything they can to have me lose this race,” said Trump. He believes that China wants his opponent, democratic party candidate Joe Biden to win the upcoming election.
President Trump also said that he is looking forward to the action he should take if China was "knowingly responsible" for the COVID-19 outbreak.
Amid this war of words, the US navy deployed two warships to the south China sea today, rising the tension between the two nations.
Peoples' liberation army (PLA) issued a statement on the situation, accusing the US of "provocative acts" that "seriously violated international law and China's sovereignty and security interests."
