A 'Drug Smuggler' Cat escapes Sri Lankan prison

A cat was detained at Colombo Magazine Prison on Saturday (02) with a small pack of heroin tied around its neck. Yes, A cat... If that is too normal for you, The smuggler cat managed to escape the prison on the same day.


According to The Department of Prisons, 1.7 grams of heroin, two SIM cards and a memory chip were discovered inside the small pack tied on to the cat.

The department was unable to locate the escapee yet and did provide any comments about the incident.

This was not the first time an animal found related to narcotic investigations in Sri Lanka. Last week, Police was able to capture an Eagle which was trained and used by drug traffickers for the distribution of narcotics in a suburban area of Colombo.
